MIDIHead is an award winning composer/song writer, remixer, producer, vocalist, and DJ. From the age of 8, he knew what he wanted to do. It was then that he first recognized the power and influence that music had, and envisioned a day where he would create it. At the age of 14 he began his musical endeavors as a DJ for a local radio station by day, and as a mobile DJ by night. By age 18 he was DJ'ing at a popular local night club. But spinning other people's music wasn't his dream, so he fronted a band that eventually led him to perform for thousands under the moniker of Monolithic.

He was awarded "Best Album of 2001" at The American Synthpop Awards in Hollywood, receiving his award from Information Society front man Kurt Harland. After moving to Los Angeles, MIDIHead shifted his role in music production to focus on media. His first track was heard in Fox's "Dark Angel", followed by music in a "Matrix Reloaded" movie trailer, and in TV shows such as "Access Hollywood", NBC's "Las Vegas", "CSI" series, "America's Next Top Model", and "Prison Break", among others. He's also had several remixes and original scores in Konami's popular Dance, Dance, Revolution video game series.

Most recently, he has designed downloadable loop and multi-sampled collections available exclusively on Samplebase.com. His song “Fall Awake” was featured in Germany’s Beat Magazine as hundreds of readers remixed the song for a chance to win a Dave Smith Instruments MoPho synth. Apple’s iTunes’ website recently featured the iPhone application Looptastic (featuring re-mixable elements by MIDIHead) as a staff top pick.

MIDIHead has recently made a return to song writing, stating that “There are emotions that have built up inside me as I do more [music] work on “spec” projects, and less for myself. A true artist NEEDS to paint on their canvas. Some people take medication, or go to counseling to ease their pain. I write.” Keep an eye out for new releases from MIDIHead as they come.

Second, do you personally make most of all of the Samplebase loops/instruments under Midihead? If so, how do you usually author the sounds?

On a random sidenote, are we allowed to download other songs available in the preview area on the main page (such as Dark Star and Shadows)?

It behooves me to tell you that I just completed a new track, called "Shine". What does it mean? It means you have a new song from me to listen to. ;)

Oh, you mean what does the song mean? Well why don't you tell me what you think it means by posting your thoughts below (responding to this thread)? And I'll chime in. Perhaps we can have a philosophical conversation in the topic? That could be fun, shall we see?

Anyway, to download it you'll need to be a VIP member.

Please download it and let me know what you think!
Best regards,

When will this left-right/Democrat-Republican nonsense end? Today's issues have nothing to do with political party and everything to do with the issue of freedom. Let's take the Christian umbrella, for example. If Christians of all denominations could only stop arguing about the differences of opinion, there could actually be harmonious co-existence with the belief that God is supreme and the center of their faith and lives. It is the silly differences of opinion that distract us from what is truth.

The truth is this: We are losing our freedom. This is caused by people on both contrasting sides of the political and ideological spectrum. It is the fool who cannot think freely for him/herself that engages in such finger pointing and blaming of sides. This is precisely what is wanted and encouraged by those wanting to strip our freedoms away. The best way to live is with the rights and privileges given to all of us by our Constitution. It's what allows us be who we are: Christians, Atheists, Pagans, Liberals, Conservatives, etc. If we do not collectively fight for the rights that our Constitution provides us, NONE of us will be allowed to pursue our dreams in this great country. We will all be silenced and shackled. If we cannot agree and act upon this fact quickly, embracing the truth of our dire situation, we are lost...and soon the fall cometh.
